Export History & Statistics
Every backup SquirrelCache runs is automatically logged. View your full history, drill into individual exports, and track your all-time stats.
Finding Export History
To open Export History:
- Tap the Settings icon (gear) in the top-right corner of the main screen
- Scroll to the Advanced section
- Tap Export History
The History List
The history view shows a reverse-chronological list of all backup attempts — successful, failed, and cancelled. Each row shows:
- Export status (completed, failed, or cancelled)
- Date and time the export started
- Number of items exported
- Total export size
Tap any row to open the detail view for that export.
Export Detail View
Tapping a history entry shows the full record for that backup:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|

| Started | Date and time the export began |
| Finished | Date and time the export ended (or was cancelled/failed) |
| Duration | Total elapsed time |
| Photos exported | Count of still images successfully exported |
| Videos exported | Count of video clips successfully exported |
| Total items | Photos + videos combined |
| Total size | Combined file size of all exported items |
| Destination | Folder path or "Share Sheet" if shared directly |
| Date range | Start and end date used for filtering (if Date Range mode was used) |

| CSV exported | Whether a CSV log was generated |
| Error log | Details of any files that failed to export, with reasons |
Statistics Dashboard
At the top of the Export History view, a statistics panel shows your all-time aggregated metrics:
You can also see total counts for photos and videos exported across all time, and a breakdown of how many exports used ZIP or CSV.
Exporting History as CSV
You can export your entire backup history as a CSV file — useful for record-keeping or auditing what has been backed up and when.
To export history as CSV, tap the Export as CSV button in the Export History view. The resulting file includes one row per backup attempt with all fields from the detail view.
Clearing Export History
To delete all export history records:
- Go to Settings → Advanced → Clear Documents and Data
- Confirm the deletion
This cannot be undone. Clearing Documents and Data removes all export history records, cached files, and app data stored on the device. Your actual photo library and any previously exported files are not affected.
Export history is stored locally using SwiftData and never leaves your device. It is not included in iCloud backups of the app.
